Fürstwaren Store

The Fürstwaren Store, often referred to as the the store or /warp store for short, is a large player-run shop in Grenzstadt owned and operated by VanillaCake__. It is known for having great buy and sell prices that are frequently updated to reflect player supply and demand.

With the closing of LizzieSteph's Kæse-co, the Fürstwaren Store is the only major competitor to aq2a's BMC Warehouse.

History

Vanilla's Wares and Spares!

In April of 2026, VanillaCake__ claimed one of the two frontmost stalls at /warp mall for himself. Using that space, he created Vanilla's Wares and Spares!, originally intending just to sell excess minerals for a bit of extra profit. However, the shop proved more profitable and popular than expected. Seeing this unanticipated success and having already critiqued the server economy for needing more big player-owned stores, VanillaCake__ decided to turn Vanilla's Wares and Spares! into a real shop and dedicate both its profits and the revenues generated from his grinding toward the creation of a larger store in Grenzstadt.

During this time, Vanilla's Wares and Spares! also benefitted from the Doublestep Crisis, as VanillaCake__ and the other affected shop owners were allowed to keep the profits from swaths of their stores being cleared out.

Creation of the Store

After deciding to put the larger store behind LizzieSteph's Grenzstadt University of Architecture and having just reached the $100,000 milestone needed to buy a /warp, VanillaCake__ started constructing the building on May 18^th. The design of the store was based on the original plans for the University so that the two builds would aesthetically match.

On May 29^th, with the bulk of the two shop wings completed, VanillaCake__ purchased /warp store and the Unofficial Store (quickly renamed to the Fürstwaren Store) became fully operational. However, the rest of the building was not completed until June 12^th, when the iconic dome above the central rotunda was finally constructed. Only minor additions and detail tweaks have occurred since, not including changes to the price signs.
